Join Earth and Space Scientist’s Brave Exploration of Energy Positive Retrofit for their DC Headquarters

Oregon Convention Center: Room 204
Track: Net Zero Energy

American Geophysical Union (AGU), the largest organization of Earth and Space Scientists, including leaders in climate science, take on the first net-positive energy retrofit project in Washington, DC.  Designed in 1992, existing systems in AGU’s headquarters were reaching the end of their useful life. AGU bravely elevated what could have been an ordinary recapitalization project into an elegant reflection of their organizational mission. This session will introduce the project and then invite participants to explore the challenges of net-positive energy retrofits through the lens of AGU and their own projects.  Following this exploration, the team will provide insight from several team-member perspectives.
