Yianni is an architect in private practice in Portland with an emphasis on residential green building, and more recently on site planning around productive landscapes and food. He lives on Sauvie Island, where he farms on a small scale and markets his fruit on an even smaller scale. The farm has hosted butchery and fermentation workshops, mentors beginning farmers, and held two seasons of farm to plate dinners. In addition to teaching an upcoming terminal studio class in the U of O White Stag building, he contributed a chapter to the forthcoming book The Really Big One: Risk, Health, and Environmental Communication surrounding the Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquakeā€¯ due out from Roman and Littlefield in late 2017. He has an MArch degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
