Creating Biophilic Buildings: How Architects Can Enliven Their Projects

Oregon Convention Center: Room C123-C124
Track: Biomimicry + Biophilia

Biophilic Design is an emerging field that is inspiring architects and designers to connect people to nature and enrich their design concept. Research demonstrates that people are happier and perform better in buildings that connect them to nature and that these buildings maintain a higher real estate value. This session will provide a framework for architects to think broadly about Biophilic Design and equip them with tools, strategies and resources to bring it into practice. 14 case studies of built projects that illustrate Biophilic Design strategies will be explored in detail.
