Higher Education Campuses – Beyond the LBC Scale

Oregon Convention Center: Room B113
Track: Community

The Living Community Challenge (LCC) is used by practitioners new to ILFI programs and practitioners who have certified Living Building Challenge (LBC) projects: both looking for ways to effectively implement resilience and climate commitments. For organizations with campuses or multiple buildings, the LCC is a way for project teams scaling up decision making by starting with the comprehensive planning process that align well with the campus approach and values. By optimizing lessons learned from the LBC and seeking holistic solutions beyond the building’s footprint using the LCC, an organization’s climate, resilience, and health commitments are within reach. This session will highlight leading higher education campuses, including the first two registered campuses CSUMB and Williams College, who are taking a holistic approach to regenerative design and planning.
